Baby it's cold outside, so go warm yourself up with a hot cup of Pho from the Eat Phamish Vietnamese Food Truck. Just like the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld, the chef is equally as tough. When you order your Pho she'll demand to know if you're eating it right now or waiting for later to ensure her homemade broth from the night before doesn't wilt the fresh vegetable & sprout accompaniments.
The Grubdown:
- soothing broth, spicy Jalapeno, Cilantro 'n Basil, crunchy Bean Sprouts & rugged Glass Noodles, kinda tough Chicken Pho Ga ($8 Bowl)
- black peppery, thick 'n rough, minty cool Grilled Lemongrass Pork Vietnamese Spring Rolls (2 for $6)
- like frosted flakes & lucky charms, marshmallowey sweet, pina colada-ey Pho Coconut Liquid
I'm keepin' this one short and savory. While I loved all the mix of minty fresh and spicy Vietnamese flavors, to be honest the meats in both the Pho and Spring Rolls were tough. Not sure if Eat Phamish had an off day, or if the chef was trying to match the texture of her meats to her personality.
In the Pho, I loved the crunch of the Carrots & Sprouts, and the addition of Jalapeno is genius. Also you can tell the Noodles are homemade because they are all cut in different widths.
The Vietnamese Spring Rolls were surprisingly Minty fresh, which balanced the prominent Black Pepper spice.
And the Liquid Coconut Juice is only for the brave, a.k.a. hardcore coconut lovers.
