Finally, the third – and best – installment of the 2011 Santa Anita Park Food Truck Festival. It's a bit ironic that my hand model and I's food fest, or lack there of, came to a halt with Indian food from the Naan Stop Truck. Especially since by the time we got there, there was almost nada Naan left.
What were able to scrounge up, though, was heart-warming and stomach satisfying. I'd definitely order the Tandoori Paneer in a heartbeat, and can't wait to drool over the Masala Fries next time.
The Grubdown:
- fried crispy edge outside, fluffy pancake-like inside Naan Indian Flatbread Sticks
- stewed to perfection, a little fatty, Lamb slow-cooked for hours in Tomato, Onion & Yogurt Gravy
- had the most depth and flavor of the bunch, tomato buttery, smokey char, ricotta creamy Tandoori Paneer Indian Cheese with Yogurt, Lemon Juice, Ginger, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Cumin, Coriander, Chili Powder & Turmeric
Follow @NaanStop to find their next stop, like the US Barista Championship tonight from 6pm-9pm at Siren Studios on 6063 Sunset Blvd.
