In preparation for moving from LA to OC, the hand model and I naturally decided to get our bikes tuned up for all the beach ridin' soon to be had, at Two Wheels One Planet on 17th st. It was brunch time and Plums Cafe was nearby with a creative menu calling our names.
The Grubdown:
- fluffy, crunchy, slight charcoal crisp, powdered sugar dust with just a little too many nuts, Willamette Hazelnut Pancakes with amazing Marion Berry Compote $13
- fat fresh dill-icious 'daise, wish it was really hash vs. country potato, unfortunately watery in parts, Alderwood Smoked Salmon Hash with Red Potato, Onion, Pepper, Poached Eggs & Dill Hollandaise $15
- don't even think about splitting a side of their tastebud tantalizing, smoky 'n spicy hot Oregon Pepper Bacon $2.50
The service is great, the atmosphere is divided (modern "Jetsons" cafe inside vs. plastic plantation patio outside), and the food leaves a little to be desired.
But the menu boasts major potential with so many unique options like Hangover Burger, Chocolate Cocoa Banana Waffles, Campfire Trout, and Shirred Eggs.
Not to mention, they have ridiculously good looking cocktails like Fresh Cucumber Mint Vodka and Oregon Blackberry Margaritas.
Thankfully my bike's been properly repaired, 'cause based on how many dishes I wanna go back to try, there are some serious calories yet to be burned.
