Continuing the California August road trip, this week's stop is in the Danish Village of Solvang. From Wine and Craft Beer tasting to touring museums and – my personal favorite – year round Christmas boutiques, there are lots of things to do in Solvang.
So, to kick off your day, here's a list of three breakfast eats from Continental to Traditional Danish Pancakes, and Pastries.
The Grubdown:
- truly amazing, hearty, tart 'n roasted, Housemade Granola with Dried Cherries, Golden Raisins, Shredded Coconut, Macadamia Nuts, Pistachios, Walnuts, Sesame Seeds, Rolled Oats & Cinnamon $10 (complimentary for overnight guests)
Paula's Pancake House - Solvang's "Best Breakfast Restaurant"
- traditional thin style, light 'n fluffy, Paula's Special Danish Pancakes topped with Warm Cinnamon Apples, Fresh Whipped Cream & Powdered Sugar $8.95
Olsen's Bakery & Coffeeshop
- buttery, caramel, cream puff, chocolatey goodness, Princess Lacey Cookie stuffed with Whipped Cream and dipped in Chocolate
Genieten! (That's Dutch for "Enjoy".)
