This weekend is going to be hot. So, why not enjoy the new outdoor Marina Park and beautiful bay views from the Lighthouse Cafe.
The new development in Newport Beach, offers everything from rec rooms for large parties to basketball courts, sailboat slips, and a nautical playground.
The cafe has floor to ceiling windows, allowing you to take in Newport Beach's finest amenity. The decor is sea-shackle modern. And, the color scheme is comprised of sea glass, white, silver, and sand.
Sit in the center and you can see straight to the top of the lighthouse. However, you can also hear each and every conversation in the room.
The Grubdown:
- crunchy, creamy 'n refreshing, Mini Ahi Tuna Wonton Tostadas with Asian Slaw, Avocado Mousse & Spicy Mayo $13.95
- thick 'n rich, New England Clam Chowder with Clams, Bacon & Chive $5.95/cup $8.95/bowl
- bitter in every aspect, Fried Calamari with Chili Orange Sauce, Sesame & Grilled Orange $12.95
- big crunch 'n flavor, Kale and Romaine Caesar Salad with Garlic Herb Croutons, Parmesan Reggiano, & White Anchovies $9.95 Add Shrimp $6
The hand model and I visited right when they opened, so there were still some kinks to work out. Overall, the menu felt very light with some overpriced items at dinner.
Brunch, on the other hand, seems to be very promising. Mix a Mimosa with that view and you can't go wrong!
