It's mid-January, which can only mean one thing – it's time for Newport Beach Restaurant Week. From now until Sunday, January 29th, you can take advantage of 2- to 4-course prix-fixe meals, ranging from $10 to $50 per person.
Here's a list of some of my favorite dishes from Pierogies to Chowder, Burgers and Pizza. (Needless to say, you'll have to ditch the January detox to enjoy.)
The Grubdown:
A Restaurant - 4-course Dinner for $50
- a Newport Beach Housewives' death sentence with carbs on top of carbs 'n cheese, Hook's Cheddar Pierogies with house Sauerkraut, Cipollini Onion Puree, Pickled Mustard Seed, Creme Fraiche & Chervil
Billy's at the Beach - 3-course Lunch for $30
- Goldilocks' dream, not too thin, not too thick, but just right, abundance of clean tender clams, New England Clam Chowder with Celery, Potato & Sweet Hawaiian Bread Croutons
Cucina Enoteca - 3-course Dinner for $30
- this appetizer is a meal in itself, fluffy, tangy 'n sweet, Creamy Mascarpone Polenta Board with Chef's Whim Ragu (mine was Lamb)

- clean, thick 'n juicy, the bacon 'n cheese add-ons really make it, The Classic Burger with Angus Beef, Red Leaf Lettuce, White Onion, Ripe Beefsteak Tomato & Sassy Sauce (Horseradish, Ketchup & Mustard)
Pizzeria Mozza - 3-course Dinner for $30
